The full English Breakfasts were fab! The owners were very hospitable & helpful too. Located in a quieter area of town.
Travelling with an older relative who had mobility issues caused a problem by the room being 6 flights of stairs up. However for the 2nd night we were offered and accepted a lower floor room, which was great & most appreciated .

The room was warm and great with a shower, a hairdryer and bath sheets in the private bathroom. The location was super, only 5 minutes walk to South Cliff Italian Gardens. The place had a family atmosphere.

The surprise upgrade to a spacious apartment next door was delightful, allowing us to enjoy family board games and the cozy ambiance while admiring local art. The breakfast at Rowntree Lodge featured perfectly cooked eggs florentine.

The friendliness, service and consideration of the owners. A lovely cooked full English breakfast.
We had a large family room on the top floor. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable; my only real complaint was the lack of a mirror anywhere in the bedroom, so drying hair, putting on make up etc was really difficult. There was a single small mirror in the shower room, but this was screwed to the wall. It might also be helpful to guests to know in advance that the only toiletries provided are a squirty soap dispenser at the sink, no shampoo etc. Maybe this is just a personal view, as all other b&bs we visit usually provide these. We also felt breakfast times were very brief; 8.30 to 9; no deviation even at weekends.

The owners were very nice people....the place was nice and clean....but I didn,t realise when I booked that it was at south cliff.....and was too far out of town for us......it advertised a licensed bar ...but on the 2 night we stayed it was closed....so we had to go to a bar for a few drinks....
The area ..it is a long walk into town....and a steep walk back up from the seafront....as the lift stopped at 5pm...

The Maynard has a fantastic location just a short walk from the beach, and the room was really comfortable with a cozy bed. The friendly hosts created a warm atmosphere. I also appreciated the fast, free WiFi and ample tea and coffee facilities in the room.

From the second you enter The Maynard you are made to feel welcome by your hosts Stuart and Angelia. The room was very clean, warm and spacious with lots of hanging space for cloths and plenty of fresh towels. The tea & coffee was very welcome in the bedroom. Breakfast was simply fantastic with a great choice of cereal and juice followed by a great freshly cooked breakfast, To put it simply, nothing was too much trouble for your hosts and I would gladly recommend the Maynard Hotel to anyone. Thank you from Ian, Angie and the girls.

We received a very warm reception and enjoyed our stay at the Maynard Hotel. It is well situated at the southern end of the South Beach, a very quiet and peaceful location. We need a hotel that welcomes our Labrador, and there were no problems with this either.
The hotel was just fine, no real problems. Parking was either by 'disc' offered at the hotel, or finding a non-disc parking area 200 metres from hotel; again, no problem.

Consider requesting a lower floor room if mobility is an issue, as the stairs can be challenging.
